The number one rule to remember in audio is: garbage in = garbage out. To have a successful talk show, the audio must be clean and clear. No dogs barking in the background, no kids screaming their heads off and don’t do your recording in a space that is acoustic, your audio will sound like an echo chamber.
If you want to be a serious talk show host, invest in a good microphone. Quality recording equipment will give you quality sound. Take a little time to learn how to use your recording software. Content, recording and editing are the three main ingredients to your talk show success.
